We all live our lives from within one of the Three Zones of Living: the Complacent Zone, the Survival Zone, and the Comfort Zone. Typically
… Because the narrative that The Comfort Zone is a place where you sit idly by and is a barrier between you and your dreams is false… it is a lie!
But, like you, for a long time, I believed these stories. I was told “no pain, no gain” … “just work a little harder” … and “you have to step outside your comfort zone to get what you want.”
Like you, I learned how to crack the code and feel more accepted, pushing so hard that all my exhaustion, pain, and anxiety went deep, deep inside me. It worked, too, to an extent. As soon as I committed to a life outside my comfort zone, I received better grades. I made more friends. I felt accepted, worthy, and for the first time in my life… good enough.
But I didn’t feel seen because deep down I didn’t
understand this way of thinking. I felt like a fraud because I
was aware of the negative thoughts, feelings, and actions
that life outside of my comfort zone created. It made no
sense to me because deep down I’ve always been a
positive person; a dreamer; a wearer of rose-tinted glasses that saw life as a beautiful canvas.
Yet there I was trying to force myself to fit into an approach that did not fit with my
principles, values, and abundant way of thinking. So I decided to take a step back and
question what society had taught me and instead connect with what life was trying to say.
In an instant, the storm clouds parted, allowing luscious light to shine through.
I realized who I was… where I was… why I was… it was all so very perfect.
All I had to do was embrace me and my life and allow flow to take control.
The Comfort Zone I had fought so hard to escape became my Growth Zone. I learned it
isn’t a place of complacency where you sit and allow life to pass you by… it’s not a lazy
place of inaction… it is not a barrier blocking you from living your truest form… instead, it
presents you with everything you need to Grow, be Happy, and nurture Joy.
All you need is a guide to join you on
